In the City

We spent last week celebrating Emily's birthday. We went to some outlets on Friday and then to New York City on Saturday. If you'll notice on Emily's blog, all the pictures of me from the city are uncomfortable. It's because my feet hurt a lot and all the walking made my hips hurt too. Here's a few more pictures from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This is a pair of shoes and a vase. I don't remember who painted it.


This painting is "The Death of Socrates" by David. He is one of Emily's favorite painters. One of the neat things about his art is that you can't see a single brush stroke, even up close.

All in all, we had a good time. Unfortunately, by the end we were all pretty miserable from the amount of walking. We had walked from about 42nd to 81st and back again. It was pretty intense walking. We walked through the park. This picture shows the farthest view I saw in the park.
